Days of Action

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with Progressive Turnout Project! We all know what’s at stake on the ballot, which is why it’s so important to make a difference now and power progressive wins in the midterms.

Progressive Turnout Project is the largest voter contact organization in the country. Our mission: Rally Democrats to vote. For the 2022 midterms, with the help of paid staff and organizations participating in our Days of Action, we will talk with inconsistent Democratic voters and encourage them to turn out in November.

How can I get involved?

There are two main ways for you to get involved:

  • Willing to walk, knock on doors and speak to new potential voters? If you live in or near one of our states of focus (below), our canvassing program would be great for you!
  • Are you more comfortable speaking to your own friends and family about voting? Our peer-to-peer text program would be a great fit!

Don’t worry if this is your first time. We will provide you, and your organization, with online tools during our orientation to get you started.

In what states is PTP running Days of Action?

Our focus will be in these Senate battleground states:

  • Arizona
  • Georgia
  • New Hampshire
  • Nevada
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • Wisconsin

If I don’t live in one of the above battleground states, can I still get involved?

You absolutely can! For example, if you live in Maryland and you’re close enough to drive into Pennsylvania, we encourage you to visit a neighboring state to knock doors and help turn out voters.

Other than Days of Action, volunteers can also help reach inconsistent voters by writing Postcards to Swing States.

If I’m not a part of an organization, can I still volunteer?

Yes! Democracy is for everyone and that includes you! We’d like to collect a little information about you so we can get you in the swing of things. Please fill out this form to get started.

What’s a Day of Action?

Days of Action are events being held with the purpose to talk to as many voters as possible and turn them out to vote in the upcoming primary or November. We will start off with a virtual training on how to use our tools. Then, once everyone is comfortable, we will begin to reach as many people as we can!

What tools will be used for the Days of Action?

The resources that will be available for Days of Action are MiniVAN if you choose to canvass, or Reach if you choose to do peer to peer texting. Both of these resources are available to download on your personal Android or iOS devices.

What if I don’t feel comfortable going into certain neighborhoods?

Your safety always comes first at Progressive Turnout Project. This program is about meeting people where they are and enabling people to canvass in any area within our battleground states. There will be walk packets available for volunteers everywhere within the state and we will help you in selecting areas you feel the most comfortable canvassing.
